Technicians interested in continuing their education with NANT's online seminars can find information on the program below. More information is also available at www.DialysisTech.net

NANT is offering a series of three one-hour webinars in August focusing on water treatment that will provide a total of 3.6 contact hours. Both biomedical and clinical technicians will enjoy Rich Benner, Gambro; John Sweeny and Jim Baker, AmeriWater discuss various aspects of water treatment and its impact on dialysis. These webinars are part of NANT member services to help technicians secure the contact hours required for recertification.

Each webinar will be held at 3 pm ET / 2 pm CT / 1 pm MT / 12 noon PT. Each webinar will be recorded so that if you are unable to participate in the webinar live, you may request the link to hear it at your convenience.
On August 4, Rich Benner focuses on water and dialysate quality, current and future AAMI standards, bacteriology of ultrapure dialysate, the water room environment, and water purification equipment. Of particular interest in Dialysis Water Purification, AAMI, and Conditions of Coverage will be a discussion about soon to be implemented new standards by AAMI.

On August 11, John Sweeny presents The Coming of Age of UltraPure Water. Every time we dialyze a patient, their immune system is attacked. Ultrapure water can potentially result in extended life, decreased need for medications and shorter hospital stays. This session presents the evolution of water quality and the emergence of requirements for ultrapure water as best for the dialysis patient.

On August 18, Jim Baker discusses Big Bad Carbon. How does carbon work? How does pH level affect it? What can you do to ensure that carbon does not detrimentally impact your water purification system?
To participate in the webinar series, you just need access to a computer. Instructions will be sent to you after you register online at www.nant.biz. These instructions will include the website and log-in information. Contact hour certificates will be sent after the third session via email. To validate your participation, you will need to be sure that you log-in with your name to the webinar.

The cost for the three webinars for NANT members is just $50. Individual webinars are $20 each. The cost for nonmembers is $75 for three webinars or $30 for each individual webinar. If you sign up for the series, you do NOT need to purchase the individual webinars.
